Welcome to My Blog.

Hello! 

My name is DD, and I’m the owner of DD’s Scents. I started this little business as a creative outlet and as a way to work from home while raising my two daughters. I wanted something that gave me a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment beyond my day-to-day routines, while still fitting around family life.

 I’ve always loved candles, room sprays, and all things cozy—but it wasn’t until my husband came home one day and told me about a coworker’s wife who sold soy wax melts that everything clicked. He never really liked me burning candles, especially with a five-year-old, a one-year-old, and dogs in the house, so he suggested I try wax melts instead.

When I did, I was amazed. The scents were incredible, and they didn’t give me headaches the way store-bought candles from places like Safeway and Walmart often did. That’s when I learned those candles were made with paraffin and lots of additives, things I didn’t love my family breathing in. So, I looked into making my own melts, and the process seemed so fun that I gave it a try. I instantly loved it, especially pouring them into little heart shapes, since I’ve always loved hearts.

After a while of making them just for myself, I started talking with my husband about selling them. He was so encouraging, wanting me to have hobbies and passions outside of raising our daughters and running the house. His support gave me the push I needed, and that’s how DD’s Scents was born.

This blog will be my place to share behind-the-scenes peeks at what I’m working on, little updates about my business, and some of the cozy joy I hope my melts bring into your home.
